Artwork Requirements

To produce your order, we need:

  • A vector file (AI, CDR, EPS, PDF, or SVG)
  • RGB color mode for laser engraving
  • CMYK color mode for full color printing
  • All text converted to outlines

Vector Files

  • Accepted file types: .AI, .CDR, .EPS, .PDF, or .SVG.
  • We cannot use JPGs, PNGs, screenshots, photos, Word docs, or images pulled from a website or social media.

Don't Have a Vector File?

If you only have a JPG, PNG, or other image file, we can usually recreate or convert your artwork into a vector file for you. This is a paid service, and we'll always give you an estimate before starting any work. Just send us what you have and we'll let you know.

Color Mode

  • Laser engraving: files must be RGB
  • Full color printing: files must be CMYK

Drop shadows, gradients, glows, and transparency effects are not accepted and may not reproduce properly. Please remove these effects before submitting your file.

Fonts and Details

  • Please convert all text to outlines, also called “create outlines” or “convert to curves,” so your fonts display correctly on our end.
  • Avoid very thin lines and tiny details, as they may not reproduce well.

AI-Generated Artwork

We accept AI-generated artwork, but it is rarely production-ready as submitted.

Tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and DALL·E can be great for inspiration, but the files they produce almost never meet standard artwork requirements for engraving or printing.

AI artwork commonly includes:

  • JPG or PNG exports instead of vector files
  • Shadows, gradients, glows, and soft edges
  • Fake, distorted, or misspelled text
  • Excessive detail or unnecessary background clutter

In most cases, AI artwork will need to be cleaned up, simplified, or recreated as a vector file before it can be used. Depending on the complexity of the artwork, this may result in additional design charges.

If you’ve created something with AI and aren’t sure whether it will work, please send it to us before ordering. We’ll review it and let you know whether it’s production-ready, needs conversion, or may need adjustments.

Proof Approval

If you submit custom artwork, we’ll send a digital proof for your approval before production begins. Production will not start until you approve the proof.

Please review your proof carefully, including spelling, sizing, placement, and colors. Once approved, any errors visible on the proof are not eligible for free reprints.

If you’re using one of our designs, you’ll review and approve the design during checkout. No separate proof will be sent.

Copyright

By submitting artwork, you confirm that you own the rights to it or have permission to use it. We are not responsible for copyright, trademark, or licensing issues related to customer-supplied artwork.

This also applies to AI-generated artwork. The legal landscape around AI-generated images is still evolving, by submitting AI artwork, you confirm that you have the right to use it and accept responsibility for any copyright, trademark, or licensing issues that may arise.

We are not responsible for disputes related to customer-supplied or AI-generated content.
